zkVerify Is Listening: Community Governance Is Here

Hey everyone,

I’m Luca from the Product Marketing team at Horizen Labs.

Over the past two years, we at Horizen Labs have been quietly (well, not always quietly!) building zkVerify. And I’ve got to say—it’s been one of the most fulfilling rides of my career. There’s something special about watching an idea grow from early designs into a living, breathing blockchain.

Right now, we’re at a turning point. One that’s about more than performance, or new verifiers, or transaction throughput.

We’re talking about Governance.

And today, I’m happy to share that zkVerify’s governance platform is now live on Volta, the network’s dedicated permanent testnet environment for experimentation and growth.

Why This Matters

Decentralization isn’t just about running code on thousands of nodes. It’s about giving real people the ability to shape what happens next. And that’s exactly what Governance is for.

Through this platform, anyone holding tVFY (the testnet token) can:

  • Create proposals that matter to them,
  • Vote on open referenda,
  • Be part of the decision-making process that will shape zkVerify’s future.

This system is designed for openness, transparency, and community ownership.

And we’re not just enabling this—we’re actively encouraging everyone to get involved.

What You Can Do Today

The platform is built on OpenGov, a pioneering decentralized governance system that empowers the community to be in full control of the network. We’ve customized it to reflect zkVerify’s unique structure and direction.

Here’s what you can do right now:

  • Submit a proposal to improve or support the network,
  • Take part in discussions and cast your vote,
  • Signal ideas or changes you’d like the community to consider,
  • Help keep the process healthy by reviewing and—when necessary—challenging active referenda.

It’s all happening now, on Volta:

And Yes—You Can Earn Points Too!

Because we believe learning by doing is the best way to get involved, we’re launching new governance-related tasks as part of our Incentivized Testnet program.

If you’re already earning points through zkVerify ProofPoints, you’ll now have even more ways to participate and get rewarded.

We hope this gives you a reason to explore, vote, experiment—and maybe even propose something that makes us all stop and say: “Whoa, that’s a great idea.”

Built With Care, Handed to the Community

At Horizen Labs, we’ve been designing and building this governance platform with care—so that it could serve zkVerify with the transparency and openness it deserves.

But ultimately, governance belongs to zkVerify, and it’s meant to be shaped, challenged, and driven forward by the community itself.

What we’ve done is set the stage—tools, interface, documentation, testing—so that you can step in and make your voice heard.

Let’s explore this new chapter together. Let’s learn from it, improve it, and help zkVerify grow into something that reflects the people who believe in it.

See you on https://zkverify-testnet.subsquare.io,
