zkVerify Testnet Regenesis: Welcome to the Volta Testnet

The zkVerify Testnet is evolving! The zkVerify testnet is being relaunched as the zkVerify Volta Testnet. This upgrade enhances the zkVerify technical foundation and aligns with the network's strategic goals, bringing us one step closer to Mainnet launch.
Why Regenesis?
zkVerify is transforming into a Relay chain, the backbone of a modular network, enabling it to host specialized blockchains called parachains.
This upgrade, along with updating to Polkadot-stable-2409, will significantly boost zkVerify's scalability and interoperability.
- Blockchain reset, user balances preserved: While the blockchain history will reset, user balances will remain intact, maintaining integration with our ecosystem partners while allowing for fundamental improvements to the network's architecture.
- Cleaner and more efficient architecture: This regenesis eliminates legacy code, optimizing the network for sustainability and long-term growth.
Why Volta?
The name “Volta” honors Alessandro Volta, the physicist who invented the electric battery and made fundamental contributions to our understanding of electricity. Just as Volta’s innovation powered our world today, zkVerify is building the foundation that will power the future of zero-knowledge verification - making it more accessible, interoperable, and efficient for real-world applications.
Introducing $tVFY: the Volta Testnet Token
We’re excited to introduce $tVFY as the official testnet token for Volta. To ensure a fair testnet balance restoration, we're implementing a practical 'cap' during the regenesis: testnet holdings above 1000 $ACME will be capped at 1000 $tVFY, promoting a more balanced ecosystem.
Expanding zkVerify Capability by Adding a New Verifier: Plonky2!
In collaboration with Distributed Lab, we are adding support for Plonky2, expanding our ZK verification capabilities for any app or project leveraging this proof system.
Additional Developments
While not part of the current upgrade, we’re excited to share that we’ve deployed the attestation contract on Base Sepolia, specifically for the ETHDenver hackathon, but it can be used in all future hackathon activities by builders.
Final Thoughts
The initial phase of our testnet has concluded successfully, paving the path for a new start: the Volta Testnet, which represents a significant advancement towards Mainnet. By resetting the network with these enhancements, we are creating a robust foundation for developers, partners, and community members to continue driving innovation in zero-knowledge proof verification.

zkVerify Volta Testnet FAQs:
- What will happen to the existing $ACME tokens I have accumulated in my wallet, will I have to do anything to update my wallet to display $tVFY instead?
- All users will automatically have their wallet balance (Talisman, Substrate, PolkadotJS, etc.) updated from displaying $ACME (old zkVerify Testnet) to $tVFY (Volta). In case you are not seeing this, be sure to reload your wallet.
- I had over 1000 $ACME tokens previously, but now I only have 1000 $tVFY, why is there a discrepancy there?
- All users who previously had an $ACME balance > 1000 tokens will have their balance capped at 1000 tokens. This ensures fair testnet tokens distribution and reflects a tokenomics more similar to Mainnet.
- What is the link to the zkVerify Volta Testnet Faucet?
- This is the new zkVerify Volta Testnet Faucet Link: https://www.faucy.com/zkverify-volta
- Will the zkVerify Block Explorer link change?
- No, the zkVerify Block Explorer Link will remain the same: https://zkverify-testnet.subscan.io/
